More from Buffy (the second season):

Buffy (aka Sarah Michelle Gellar) in Buffy the Vampire Slayer
The Plot: Vampires, beware, Buffy's got a killer new look this season. First there's the cut: a funky, golden-blond bob that Sarah got last summer for her role in Scream 2 (how appropriate). In fact Bufy stylist, Jeri Baker, liked the look so much that she decided not to change a thing for the TV show. New on the scene, though, will be Buffy's makeup: Chanel's Beige du Chanel lipstick (layered with frosty glosses from Stila) and Hard Candy's Peachy pastel nail color will attract lots of red-blooded attention all season long (but don't worry, Buffy can handle it).
Prime-time Tips: To protect Sarah's hair from daily heat styling, Jeri always starts by spritzing on a protective conditioner (Neutrogena HeatSafe). Makeup artist Todd MacIntosh defines Sarah's brows with an artist's ebony graphite pencil. "It's a tried and true TV-makeup trick," explains Todd, who adds a few different colored brown pencils over the gray for dimension. Sarah's pastel makeup looks more dramatic when black liner is added to her upper lashes.

Interested in what Sarah Michelle Gellar wears off the set?

When she's not slaying vampires, Buffy's Sarah Michelle Gellar is pretty low-maintenance. The actress favors the basics, such as natural-looking makeup. Like her I Know What You Did Last Summer costar and pal, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle trusts Philosophy Kiss Me Lip Balm to keep her lips supersoft. She's also a big fan of makeup artist Francois Nars' own line of lip glosses (her picks: light, natural-looking hues). Nailwise, Sarah Michelle's into Hard Candy polish in Peachy and Smash Box polish in Fog (a silvery-gray hue), which she's been spotted wearing both on and off the Buffy set. And when she's headed out for a night on the town, the actress accentuates her look with a little glimmer from a roll-on glitter stick.

Sarah Michelle Gellar's look on the cover of Seventeen magazine:
All makeup by Fetish: Flip Your Lid Eyeshadow in Showtime, Face It Blusher in I'm Innocent, Two Timer Lip Compact in 911 and Run for Cover Nail Color in Lizard.

Sarah Michelle Gellar (reprinted from Teen People)
When the sun goes down and it's time to party, Sarah Michelle Gellar kicks Buffy's tough grrl image. "She likes to have fun," says makeup artist Sharon Gault. For Sarah's night look, Gault starts with a concealer, applying it only where needed (like under the eyes and on blemishes). To intensify Sarah's hazel eyes, Gault uses copper and peach tones (like Nars Eye Shadow Duo in Key Largo) or silvery grays and plums (Nars Tokyo). Brows get definition with a taupe powder eye shadow; lips shine with a nude pencil topped by a plum color and peachy bronze gloss (Nars Lip Gloss in Harlow). The finishing touch: silver body shimmer to give skin a dewy sheen.

To Glam Out Like Sarah Michelle Gellar (reprinted from Teen)
Try M.A.C. Lip Stick in Gel, a nude neutral for a buff-y look, Senna Fast Finish Face Powder in Sequins to add shine, Joe Blasco Lip Style Pencil in Earth to create the perfect pout and Senna Eye Color in Sesame to make eyes stand out.

Lip Lover (reprinted from Teen People)
A favorite of Sarah Michelle Gellar, Bobbi Brown Essentials Sugar Shimmer Lip Gloss ($18 each) offers a hint of color, lots of shine and a yummy vanilla scent. At select department stores.

Nails That'll Slay Him! (reprinted from Teen)
When Buffy's got a big night of slaying and milk drinking, she does it in style with Nicole nail polishes (Sarah michelle Gellar goes for 'em in real life too!). Her faves: Pink Dot.Com and Purple Persuasion, with a layer or two of Starbright sparkles on top.

Cover Makeup Tips (from Cosmopolitan, Mekup artist Gucci Westman used Maybelline cosmetics.)
Eyes: Westman used Expert Eyes Eye Shadow Collection in Delicate Airs. She used lavender from lash lines to creases, then swept the gray shade into creases and under outer edges of lower lashes. Lashes were coated twice with Wonder Curl Waterproof Mascara in Very Black.
Cheeks: She brushed Brush Blush in Berry Sorbet, a soft rose, onto Sarah's cheeks and along her cheekbones.
Lips: Westman first lined Sarah's lips with Precision Lip Liner in Nude, Then she applied Hydra Time Extended Wear Lipcolor in Girlie, a shimmery pale pink.
Glimmer Goddess (reprinted from Cosmo Girl)
"Sarah wanted a rock 'n' roll effect using bronzes to make her green eyes pop," says makeup artist Sharon Gault.
To get Sarah's look:
~Sweep iridescent khaki-bronze shadow (try mabelline Expert Eyes Eye Shadow in Silken Taupe) from lids to creases. Next, line lashlines-top and bottom-with black liner, then curl lashes and coast with black mascara.
~Apply light bronze cream blush under the apples of your cheeks, then blend rosy cream blush onto apples only. Try Mabelline Great Wear Blush in Gentle Rose.

Before polishing off her workday, actress Sarah Michelle Gellar gets a
little polish of her own with Naturistics Naturally Clear Vanilla lip gloss
($3.75) This fragrant balm contains aloe extracts and sesame oil to
moisturize lips, while the aroma of pure vanilla provides a pleasant switch
from the usuall waxy scents. Plus, with its hint of sexy sheen, it does
double duty as a clear lipstick.

Sarah applies moisturizer with sunblock every morning, and washes off her makeup completely at night. She likes to get a facial once a month, and also enjoys manicures and pedicures. Her beauty demon is unruly eyebrows. She fills in the color with a pencil then tames them with clear mascara or a spritz of hair spray on an eyebrow brush. "...I like Chanel Quadra eye shadows because they're sort of all in one and easy to travel with. For lips I like colors such as MAC Folio Satin...""I love any kind of vanilla body lotion. I always have candles in my trailer and for my bath." Sarah favors natural looking makeup.

SKIN TRICKS
Rather than covering up her gorgeous skin with loads of make-up, Sarah uses sheer foundations and boosts her golden glow with blush. Cream blush is shinier than powder blush, so when it's applied right on the apples of your cheeks (like SMG's), it catches the light and highlights your cheek area.
Maybelline True Illusion Makeup Oil-Free SPF10
Maybelline Express Blush in Rose Folie

ALL EYES
SMG's eyes aren't huge but she makes them look amazing (and larger) with mascara and black liner. Rather than drawing the line from the inner corner of you eye, start at your iris and work outwards. Make the line thicker at the outer corners. Dabbing shimmer in the inner corners of your eyes will also make them bigger.
Maybelline Great Lash Mascara
Maybelline Cool Effect Cooling Shadow/Liner in Cold Front

SMILE!
And who wouldn't if you got to snog Freddie Prinze Jr! Smiling lights up your eyes and makes you fun to be around. Slick on the lippy- SMG loves wearing obvious shades like raspberry, crimson and red.
Maybelline Wear'N Go Lipcolour in Go Crimson

ACCESSORIZE
Don't leave home with out giving your look a twist. You'll be amazed how a pair of cute earrings will dress up even the plainest tee. Here, SMG glitzed up with beads- try stringing your own necklet together with fishing wire and glass beads from a craft store.

SHOW SOME SKIN
Bare those bronzed shoulders, baby! Look for tops that have interesting necklines or snip away at a cute tee to create your own. Pick summery colours that liven up your skin tone, like mint, blue, yellow and pink.

BRONZED BEAUTY
Turn your skin golden with Clinique Self-Sun Face Quick Bronze, and shimmy up hair with John Frieda Beach Blonde Gold Rush Shimmer Gel.
